Announcing the Search Committee for a new pastor!

            As provided by our bylaws I have appointed the following to serve on the Search Committee: Mickie Giberson, Penny Bishop, Sue Dell, Bob Greenhaw, Andy Braud, Darrell Herndon, Jason Seigars, and    Martha O’Banion (ex-officio). These persons will represent us all in the task of seeking a new minister for our congregation. They have made a significant commitment in accepting this appointment and will need your support, prayers, and input. During this time, you need to be   patient; to trust the process; to trust them to represent you fairly; to let them work confidentially and without rumors and probing; and to keep them and the church in your prayers and concerns.

The committee also needs your input into the process. By filling out and returning the congregation survey, you are helping the  committee to get a clear picture of how we see ourselves and the ministry goals and expectations we have for our future together. This input will help define the ministerial leadership the  committee will seek to bring to us.

If you know of qualified Disciples of Christ ministers you would like considered by the committee, see that their names and current   locations are given to one of the above-named members. These names will then be considered confidentially and on the same basis as other candidates. Please do not ask about the status of these or other    candidates. Confidentiality is critical to the integrity of the committee’s work and to them ministry of candidates being considered.

Periodic updates on the work and progress of the committee will appear in future issues of The Visitor.

ATTENTION MEN OF CENTRAL CHRISTIAN

We are attempting to start a Men's Group at Central Christian. This group would meet once a month on Saturday morning for breakfast. This is a chance to get together and have fellowship with the men at Central. We will start this on July 16th at 8:00 A.M. at the Wee Too Restaurant. We hope you will come and join us. RSVP to the church  office (233-1214) by July 14th. Contact David Dell at 580-231-1416 if you have any questions.

We are in need of someone who would be able to water the church gardens on Friday’s. If you would be able to help with this it would be greatly appreciated. Please call Ken Hambrick at (580) 297-0897 and leave a voicemail. Thank you.

Don’t  forget  the VBS Volunteer Meeting at 6pm in the Fellowship Hall on June 28.  If you can help, we would love to have you!! Come and find out all the details.

Time to clean out the closet….A Message from Harry Hammonds

Hello my friends,

As many of you know I usually go to Jamaica for a mission trip every year. We have not been to Jamaica for three years. The group that we help is in dire need of supplies since no groups have been there for two years. Their needs are paper goods, like paper plates, paper towels, napkins and toilet paper. Other items are peanut butter and jelly in plastic jars. They need items for VBS, like, construction paper, crayons, glue sticks, stickers, etc. The could use some folding chairs that would fit in luggage. We also need luggage to take these thing to Jamaica with and leave there. If you have some luggage you don’t need please donate them to this cause. The luggage will NOT be returning with us. We would like to have the larger pieces of luggage to haul our things. Also financial help is welcome.
