Support the Enid Police Department
On Tuesday, March 1 at 11:30, Central Christian Church, University Place Christian Church and the Christian Church of the Covenant will take our monthly appreciation snack basket to the 90+ men and women of the Enid Police Department. We need some homemade cookies or fruit. The cookies need to be in individual sandwich bags- 2 or 3 cookies per bag. They need to be delivered to the church before Tuesday at 11:00am. Thank you.
The Boomer Sunday school class
The Boomer Sunday School class will begin a new Lenten February 27, “Witness at the Cross - a Beginner’s Guide to Holy Friday”. The author, Amy-Jill Levine, shows how the people at the cross each have distinct roles to play in the Gospels. We will learn about the Bystanders and Scoffers, the Other Victims, the Soldiers, the Beloved Disciple, the Women, and Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus. For each of these people we will learn about the meaning and messages for anyone who would come to the cross today. Please join us in the Fellowship Hall at 9:00 and bring a friend.
Dollars for Mission February 27 is Loaves and Fishes
Food insecurity is a lack of access to enough food for every person in a household to live a healthy life. This could be temporary but could also be long term. Food insecurity impacts every community in the United States. One In five children go to bed hungry in Garfield County. The food insecure rate continues to rise each year. Having the power to improve the lives of others is a privilege we have. Our “Dollars for Mission” this month supports our community by supporting Loaves and Fishes.
Central Christian Church:
I wish to express my deepest thanks for the Disciples of Christ churches for their donations to the EPD over the past year.
I also want to convey how much our officers and employees appreciate the thoughtfulness of the group’s monthly donations.
We serve a wonderful community that supports us greatly, but the continuing support of these congregations goes beyond what we normally see as a police department. Their ongoing support has made an impact upon the morale of the department and is greatly appreciated by the more than 100 people working for our department. I give my sincerest thanks to these churches for their service to our department.
Chief Bryan Skaggs, EPD
