The family of Curt Horrall would like to thank Central Christian Church for their warmth and hospitality at the reception before the service. Our church family made family and friends feel especially welcome during this time of loss. And, a special thanks, also, to the Caregivers who were so faithful to visit him. He loved his church!
Boomer Sunday School Class – Book of Esther You are invited to the Boomer Sunday school class as we begin a Max Lucado, video - based study of the Old Testament book of Esther. The theme of this story is that all injustices in this world will be turned on their head. Relief will come again. But this story reveals that God will call us at times to take bold risks to make that relief come to pass. God will raise us up “for such a time is this” (Esther 4:14). It asks the question, not will God act, but will we step out in faith when God does act? The characters of this drama comprise a complex and colorful crew. Xerxes is a clueless brute of a king of the biggest kingdom on earth. Haman is an egotistical and bloodthirsty man who is the right-hand man of the king and he plans to exterminate the entire race of the Jewish people. Mordecai is a Jewishman who realizes he cannot compromise and must take a stand. Esther is the main character who is gorgeous and gutsy. This class will help you discover your role today in God’s story. We meet on Sunday morning in the Fellowship Hall from 9:00 to 9:50. Everyone is welcome.
