Update on Storm Damage and Donations
Disciples across the region and beyond responded and the donations are so appreciated! Week of Compassion, the disaster response arm of the Disciples of Christ, as well as the Disciples Pension Fund provided funds to assist. Numerous congregations and individuals sent donations to our regional disaster fund. Nearly $27,000 has gone so far to congregations and also to the Sulphur families to aid them toward recovery.
Further donations are still welcome. Of special concern include, First Christian Church, Sulphur, (pictured) and First Christian Church, Morris. You may contribute through the Region’s online Givelify account, or checks may be noted Regional Disaster Relief Fund, Christian Church in Oklahoma, PO Box 891140, Oklahoma City, 73189-1140.
Dollars for Missions - This Sunday, VAFB Hero Project
Our church is a community partner in the programs that welcome student pilots and enlisted Air Force personnel to Vance Air Force Base. We provide catered lunches and welcome snack baskets. At some point in their training, we provide fresh homemade cookies from the Kitchen crew here at Central. We do these things to show our gratitude for their service to our country. This support lets them know we care and helps relieve their stress so they can focus on their jobs.
