A Thank You Letter From Michael Brockey, A VAFB Student Pilot, Central Christian Church Made a Difference!
Michael Brockey came to Vance in 2019 as a student pilot, a second lieutenant and a member of Class 2104. He began volunteering at the Enid Welcome Table. The life of a student pilot is filled with physical and mental stress. Volunteering at Welcome Table helped reduce his stress in many ways!
Michael returned to VAFB as an instructor pilot. After he became engaged to his college sweetheart, he brought her to Central to meet his “adopted grandmothers” who looked after him at the Welcome Table. After this, he and Reagan married at Central and his friends from Welcome Table provided a reception.
Upon returning to VAFB, Brockey oversaw the programs to welcome student pilots and their families to Vance. He said that CCC not only took part in this program, but set an example for other groups and companies that participated. He shared, “Thank you, for your support since 2019. We are moving to Abilene, TX. with a baby due in November. There, I will be flying B1 bombers in the defense of our country. You made a difference in my life!”
On the next stops of my Air Force journey, “Reagan and I will be looking for a church similar to Central Christian Church and hope to become involved in similar outreach programs and missions.”
God bless you all. Captain Michael Brockey, June 14, 2014
